if you’re a duke, i guess you can get away with any level of pocketsquarzzatura
Italo-English style
David Robert Somerset, the 11th Duke of Beaufort does the Gianni Agnelli- II&IS uniform. Only sold blues with the watch-over-the-cuff à la Agnelli. His choice for a barrel cuff shirt is remarkable because it is usance for Englismen with his background to opt for French cuffed shirts with double faced cufflinks. No exceptions. Beaufort’s style savvy did not go unnoticed, the way the watch and pocket hanky are worn are not exactly understated, and he was nominated to Vanity Fair’s International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1988. Pictured above in 1986 for the book The Dukes of Great Britain by Allan Warren, which incidentally is a great book with lots of portraits of gentlemen wearing tailored clothes like they were meant to - the way the whole world tried to copy, with varying degrees of success.
